Valan

Valan (Antonio Valentini) was born at Calvi dell’Umbria (Terni) in 1934. He is a modern figurative artist and has participated in many art exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 1996, a postage stamp reproducing his work  was issued in Switzerland. “…He can be linked to symbolist roots because he portrays the natural world as a set of symbols… The universe is conceived as a structure in which all the elements have a mutual correspondence... His works are based on visions and multi-dimensional views that have specific subjects, such as still lifes, female nudes and floral  arrangements… Nature is perceived through impressions of shapes, light and colors…” (a brief excerpt from “Introspective, pictorial contemplation” by Maria Pia Cappello).
