Jerry Harris

The American sculptor Jerry Harris was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. He attended San Francisco State University becoming a Jr Executive creative writer. He left the USA and moved to Sweden with his wife and son. Then he moved to London and  attended the Central St. Martins Schools of Art. His teachers were international sculptors: Sir Anthony Caro, Philip King, Tim Scott. At the Central School of Art and Design, he studied Bronze Casting, becoming master in this field. He lives in California and he is also an accomplished writer and University  sculpture teacher . “…His thin, round and pointed silhouette forms acquire psychological, sensual and social significance. By catching movement in the instant and seeking to seize the fleeting moments, the sculptures become a sort of victory over pain. He is concentrated on the interplay of correspondences employing a metaphor as a means of detachment, criticism, irony or love” (a short excerpt from “Abstract paths to freedom” by Maria Pia Cappello)
