Salvatore D'Addario

The painter-sculptor Salvatore D’Addario was born at Ariano Irpino (Avellino) in 1950. His family moved to Ancona and he obtained a diploma at the Art Institute there. He taught art until 2008. Over the years he has collaborated with major sculptors: Pericle Fazzini, Ivo Pannaggi and Edgardo Mannucci. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He has been reviewed by several art magazines. “…He develops his own style starting from the suggestions of Cubist models; he remains influenced by Futurism and Realism but he achieves original works of art that are a combination of abstraction and figuration. He decomposes the shapes in visual planes that have different spatial perspectives, giving  temporal dimension and movement, delineating emotions and aspirations through symbols, conveying the dynamic energies of human life and its evolution, enhancing its transience and preferring designs that tend towards the monochromatic and towards spiritual syncretism…” (a brief excerpt from the critical essay written by Maria Pia Cappello).
