Antonino Cammarata

Antonino Cammarata was born at Augusta (Siracusa) on the 6th of August, 1962. He lives and works in Siracusa.  In the 1990s, he established the cultural circle called “Officina dell’Arte”. His works have been reviewed in important art catalogues: he has participated in many art exhibitions in Italy, Germany and the USA. He has invented a style called “Hug Art”, oil on canvas paintings using spatula technique and paintbrushes. “…His works can be defined as ‘fantastic enigmas’ that narrate an old and modern history. The uncontaminated Sicily exists in the depth of the human heart and it seems that everything is incorporated in the panicked feeling of time in which the Self is immersed and takes refuge in nature. Dreaming a pure Eden, he finds the source of all creativity in the original world, rediscovering spiritual and sensorial connections with primordial nature, that becomes a source of happiness and serenity…” ( a short excerpt from “Evocative afflatus of silent oases” by Maria Pia Cappello).
